Toronto, ON - War Child Canada is excited to announce a very special benefit concert featuring the music of Tommy Youngsteen & The Million Dollar Band with Special Guest Adrian Grenier and friends, which will take place on Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 at one of Toronto’s newest culinary hot spots, The Bowery (55 Colborne Street, Toronto). Doors open at 9:00 pm and the show will begin at 11:00 pm. This intimate event is presented by Converse’s John Varvatos, with proceeds from the evening going to support War Child Canada, a registered charity that provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world. Tickets for the event are $20.00 and can be purchased at www.warchild.ca/bowery
Adrian Grenier is an actor, musician, director and producer, best known for his acting role in the Emmy-nominated HBO series, Entourage. He is visiting Toronto this week for the Toronto International Film Festival to promote his second feature length documentary, Teenage Paparazzo, a film focused on the complex relationship between celebrities and the media, which premiered on HBO in September 2010. Grenier is also the drummer for the New York, new-wave folk band The Honey Brothers.
Tommy Youngsteen & The Million Dollar Band is a well-known Tom Petty/Neil Young/Bruce Springsteen cover band featuring members of top Canadian acts The Sam Roberts Band, The Stills, Stars, Hot Hot Heat and a revolving supporting cast. Band members have toured the world, from Canada all the way to Japan, and have shared the bill and opened for Paul McCartney, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Coldplay, just to name a few, as well as making appearances on Late night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Conan O'Brien Show.
