Toronto, ON - War Child is excited to partner with Rifflandia Festival once again this year, to host the second annual War Child Lounge. Rifflandia Festival takes place in Victoria, B.C. from September 22nd- 25th, 2011. As part of the festival, a uniquely designated War Child Lounge will be set up in Victoria’s beautiful new Atrium Building (800 Yates Street, Victoria, B.C.) on Saturday, September 24th and Sunday, September 25th from 11:00am-1:00pm. Select musicians and bands will perform short acoustic sets, with all proceeds going to support War Child, an award-winning charity that provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world. Hosting the event this year will be Mike Devlin, music and arts columnist for the Times Colonist in Victoria.
Admission to the War Child Lounge is by donation (minimum of $10.00) payable at the door, or in advance at www.warchild.ca/rifflandia

Rifflandia Festival was launched in 2008, and has quickly become one of Western Canada’s most exciting annual music events, featuring a truly diverse line-up of acclaimed Canadian and International artists. Centered around the beautiful and historic downtown core of Victoria B.C., Rifflandia Festival wristband holders can access up to four days of performances over multiple stages. War Child is an internationally recognized, award-winning charity that works with children and their families to overcome the challenges of living with, and recovering from, conflict. In collaboration with local people, War Child aims to increase access to education, lift families out of poverty, and create a protective environment for the rights of children.
